  2. Our motto
  3. Our vision
  4. Our mission
  5. Our values
  6. Our objectives
  7. Implementation design and core strategy delivery areas.
  8. Periscope of the proposed launch and fund raising.

Uzima University College has been established by the Archdiocese of Kisumu to augument and intergratethe functions of Uzima University College which has been established as a specialized school of Medical education and research in the Great lakes region.

To efficiently achieve this mission, the call to establish endowment fund is essential so as to amplify the provision of these services to the inhabitants of our region most of whom are settled in the rural areas.

Uzima foundation endeavors to build an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary apprentice by means of  synergizing the local and international opportunities to achieve its goals.

OUR MOTTO.

“Duc In Altum”, Lk 5:4.(Cast into the Depths).-This is inspired by the Words of Jesus spoken to Peter after a long night hard work with  very disappointing yields; not catching any fish. At the word of Christ, they witnessed the miracle of plenty within a short time.

The foundation is therefore determined to go into the depths of our communities and “fish” the solutions to the innumerable challenges of our times through proactive and cost effective interventions in community health care and development.

Transforming Africa into a Healthy Generation for Sustainable Development.

OUR MISSION.

To build the aptitude of the local communities through provision of quality medical education, health care, research and enterprise development for self-reliance.

OUR SPUR!  WHY UZIMA  FOUNDATION ?

uBecause every 2 minutes, a woman dies giving birth

uBecause every year, 150,000 children die before they turn 5 years in Kenya

u Because a child born in Japan today will live to 80; one in Kenya , to 47 years

uBecause of more than 20-year difference in life expectancy between Kenya and developed countries

u  Because   over 40 % of population  never see a health worker in their lifetime

u  Because 57  countries including Kenya have a full-blown health-workforce crisis yet, in some of them, medical           graduates migrate to work in areas with some of the highest concentrations of health professionals in the world

u  Inequities help fuel social upheavals, international conflict, crime and unsustainable population growth.

u  Our current health and health-workforce education systems are unsustainable and not adapted to meet current or    future needs.

uWe need all stakeholders—including patients and communities—to focus on addressing health inequalities and delivering effective, affordable, people-centered health prevention and care.
