• Charter Date: 20th May 2025 – Uzima University officially became a chartered member of Lions Clubs International, joining the global network of service leaders.
• First General Meeting & Induction: Held on Friday, 20th June 2025 at Uzima University. Included formal induction of new members, assignment of club roles, and planning for upcoming service activities.
• Leadership Presence: The event was graced by Kisumu Host Lions Club leaders and the University Chancellor, emphasizing the value of youth leadership in community transformation.
• Structured Program: The meeting followed a well-organized agenda including introductions, induction ceremony, role assignment, planning, and networking.
• Dress Code Symbolism: New inductees wore formal suits, while Lions wore official jackets – marking a visual transition into leadership and service.
• Kisumu Host Club Induction Ceremony (24th June 2025): Uzima members attended the formal installation and induction at Lalu’s Restaurant, led by PDG Lion Ramesh Mehta and senior Lions officials – a powerful mentorship moment.

👁️‍🗨️ First Community Service Activity – Eye Screening Camp

Date: Monday, 14th July 2025
Venue: Uzima University Clinic

This marked the first official service activity by Lions Club Uzima University, in collaboration with Lions SightFirst Eye Hospital. The Eye Screening Camp was organized to promote vision health and awareness among:

• Students
• Staff
• Local school children
• Members of the surrounding community

Qualified professionals conducted free eye checkups, making preventive care accessible and raising awareness on avoidable blindness.
