Areas of expertise
Hon.Paul Otiende Amollo started the foundation of his academic pursuit at Maseno Mixed Primary School.
After completing his primary academic pursuit, he furthered at the Maranda Boys’ High School in 1986. Being a brilliant student in the institution, he made a great result in the school.
Upon graduating from the institution, he enrolled to study Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of Nairobi. After obtaining his first degree in 1995, Paul studied for a Diploma in Law the following year.
In 1998, he obtained a Certificate in International Human Rights Law at the University of LUND, Sweden.
In 2014, he received an Honorary Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) Degree from Maseno University.
He ran a Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M) at the University of Nairobi (D.A.A.D. German Academic Exchange Program) Scholarship in 2004.
He has grown to be among the respected advocate of the High Court the country (Kenya) has produced.
For two years, he served as the Ombudsman at the Commission on Administrative Justice (2014-2016).
For a year, starting in 2009, he became a member of the Committee of Experts on Constitution. He left the membership in 2010.
In 1969 he became a partner of Rachier and Amollo Advocates. After partnering for four decades (40 years), he left in 2009.
He serves under the position of Member of National Assembly, Rarieda Constituency.
Hon. Amollo has also worked for the Government of Kenya serving as the Chairperson of the Commission on Administrative Justice since 2011.
He served as the Chairperson of the International Commission of Jurists, Kenyan Section.
He also served as the Chairperson of the Action Aid International – Kenya.
Occupying the position of Secretary-General of the East Africa Law Society was another notable position he held.
He also served as a Council Member of the Law Society of Kenya. His research works have also earned him several reputations.
Hon. Amollo researched and presented on;
- Constitutional Law, theory, and practice
- African Human Rights System
- question of HIV/AIDS and the Law.
Adding to his recognition, he holds the honor of Elder of the Burning Spear of the Republic of Kenya. His handworks and notable achievements have earned him several recognitions.
